Open the abdomen and accessed through open prostate surgery is the usual surgical method to remove the malignant tumor of the male sex gland, which represents the most common urological cancer in men and the second leading cause of death from cancer disease after neoplasia lung.Asi It comes to a radical prostatectomy, which involves the removal of the entire gland. But nevertheless. when the tumor is locally advanced cancer cells spread outside the prostate is much more suitable minimally invasive cryosurgical treatment and a lower rate of side effects (urinary incontinence and impotence).

The exact cause of prostate cancer and its evolution still remains unknown even to specialists. The presence of cancer cells in the prostate is rare before the age of 40 (1%) but with age becomes extremely common interest up to almost 100% of men over 70 years. Only in some of these cases, these cells develop, giving rise to a clinically manifest cancer and aggressive, others are fortunately destined to remain silent.

The prostate cancer still has a big impact and social relevance, to increase. In Italy it is, in the age group advanced the top spot as the number of cases found and the third leading cause of death among cancers, with a higher percentage of 60% in the north of the country.
